Through the eye of the wholehearted

Wholehearted folk have an inspiring way of seeing the world. Perhaps it is because they understand how to live with vulnerability, it is what they see and touch. A treasure they behold! To believe they are worthy of deep love and connection. Living with a vulnerability that isn’t controlling or predicting. What would happen if you began to move through the world as a ‘wholehearted’? What gems would you behold? 1 :: Courage To tell the story of whom you are with a wholeheart; having and owning the courage to be imperfect. 2 :: Compassion To be kind to the self above all and upon first account; thus allowing this treasure to be extended to others. 3 :: Connection As a result of authenticity; not being whom you think you ought to be. 4 :: Vulnerability Knowing that what makes you vulnerable is in-fact what makes you beautiful. Knowing that it is necessary to invest within things that may or may not work out. An essential part of the wholeheartedness toolkit is infact vulnerability. Vulnerability is …

Intentional Self Healing and Setting ‘Right Action’ with the aid of the 2nd Book of Yoga Sutras

THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI Our choices affect us more than we realise, where we quite often or not place wellness and ownership in the responsibility of others. Life is uncertain, change causes fear, and latent impressions bring pain, all is indeed suffering to us where we have fashioned a trend for our own self discrimination. [2:15]. This can be averted. With the second book of Sutras reminding us that the play of the world can overshadow our wellness with the play of the universal energies named gunas. It is only for the sake of the self that the world exists. [2:21] To clearly remind us that the purpose of the world is to provide us with ‘experience’ and thus lead us into personal liberation [2:18] from the basis of experience. The self becomes obscured by the world in order that the reality of both may be discovered; the shades of light and dark. [2:23] Encouraging us when negative feelings restrict us in this path, the opposite should be cultured within its delicate balance. [2:31] …

A womans relationship with the moon

“Woman is the moon. It wanes and waxes. Everything grows because of the moon. Everything ripens because of the sun. And everything is conceived because of the combination of the harmony and those two polarities of male and female, sun and moon.” – Yogi Bhajan LEARNING WAYS WE CAN LINE UP WITH THE INTERNAL RHYTHMS OF LUNAR POWERS Understanding your moon centres and mapping them can help make sense of a woman’s changing emotions. Through careful observation.  Take a calendar and mark down where you think you might be and observe any changes.  Over time, you’ll understand more about yourself and your nature and be able to navigate your changes with more ease.   THE MOON POINTS The moon is the ’emotional flow of energy, hormones and imagination”. The energy of the moon is interactive within the micro and macro cosmos, our body and universe. We recognise how lunar cycles interact with Mother Earth, ocean tides, plant and hair growth, animal rhythms, and a womans hormonal cycle. Lunar energies also influence our emotional equilibrium. Moon …

Full Moon Shala

Intentional monthly gatherings to attune and connect with our feminine wisdom. Honour the ever-changing moon cycle as a mirror to the seasons of our lives. “Because just remember in your life there will be three things; you can never get rid of them. The day you get rid of those three things you will have no trouble whatsoever. Param, karam, dharam. There are three things. Param means doubt. Karam means action and reaction. Dharam means when you have absolutely no action or reaction; at that time universe will serve you and you’ll become a watcher . Because you need in your life 2 million things. You cannot go after 2 million things. You have to wait and let two million things come to you.” -Yogi Bhajan- Like Sun Salutations, this ancient four part devotional flow opens us up to the deeper wisdom the physical body holds, while balancing the emotional and mental bodies. We will begin the class with a warm up set to open up the hips & pelvis & some centering pranayam followed …

Reverence to the Positive Mind

‘I command myself and my impulse to spontaneously support my soul.’ This is why it is said Bhakti leads to Shakti—devotion leads to power. The metaphor implies that as you love the Infinite, the Infinite protects and directs you. You learn what you need to recognize your destiny, assess the distance to it, and perform the discipline to move toward it. It represents the use and refinement of the Positive Mind.” ~ Yogi Bhajan

The Primal Instinct of Intuition

Working with the sixth chakra Ajna Where Ida & Pingala meet Shushuma, where shiva and shakti conjoin. The union of opposites, intuition and wisdom. chakra ::ˈtʃʌkrə/ :: noun (in Indian thought) each of seven centres of spiritual power in the human body. When we go beyond the fifth Chakra to the sixth, seventh and eight, we are beyond the gross element. We’ve gone through all the transformations of our ordinary experience that are coded by earth, water, fire, air and ether. So there are no specific gross elements associated with this chakra. The sixth chakra allows mastery over the flow of the mind. Its often represented by light, but in this case it is the inner light. This is also the chakra we can use to master the duality of the mind. With the symbol of two petals representing the plus and minus contained in every thought. Anytime the intellect gives you a ‘yes’ it automatically implies a ‘no’. Anytime it gives you light, it also implies a darkness. To master the sixth chakra is to …
