Comfort with Karma

Karma is the Sanskrit word for action where the teachings of karma is not meant to be a punishment. Present for the sake of education; it is deep rooted that a person only ‘suffers’ if they have created the conditions for suffering. The teachings are for the actions :: How else is someone to learn how to be a good person if they are never taught that harmful action is wrong. Alas a person only suffers if they have created the conditions for suffering. 1. The Great Law “As you sow, so shall you reap.” Also known as the “Law of Cause and Effect.” To receive happiness, peace, love, and friendship, one must BE happy, peaceful, loving, and a true friend. Whatever one puts out into the Universe will come back to them. 2. The Law of Creation Life requires our participation to happen. It does not happen by itself. We are one with the Universe, both inside and out. Whatever surrounds us gives us clues to our inner state. Surround yourself with what you …

Atmosphere | The oils of beautiful aroma

To create a light euphoric atmosphere sprinkle Clary sage around a room, or put a few drops into a bowl of warm water. Having lived and worked with essential oils for several years I tend to take them for granted, yet visitors always comment on the beautiful aromas and I could not imagine life without this essence. I would rather live with the scent of freshly picked flowers and herbs than with the array of household pollutants we buy to freshen our spaces. Essential oils should be chosen according to the ‘mood’ of the party or the occasion. Bergamont, orange and rosewood for summers evenings Frankincense, pine and orange for Christmas Ylang Ylang and rose for romance Orange and Lemon for energy and vibrance Geranium and Lavender for relaxation and decadence Rose or rosewood for feminine spaces The choice and permutations are only subject to personal preference and budget – experiment!

Through the eye of the wholehearted

Wholehearted folk have an inspiring way of seeing the world. Perhaps it is because they understand how to live with vulnerability, it is what they see and touch. A treasure they behold! To believe they are worthy of deep love and connection. Living with a vulnerability that isn’t controlling or predicting. What would happen if you began to move through the world as a ‘wholehearted’? What gems would you behold? 1 :: Courage To tell the story of whom you are with a wholeheart; having and owning the courage to be imperfect. 2 :: Compassion To be kind to the self above all and upon first account; thus allowing this treasure to be extended to others. 3 :: Connection As a result of authenticity; not being whom you think you ought to be. 4 :: Vulnerability Knowing that what makes you vulnerable is in-fact what makes you beautiful. Knowing that it is necessary to invest within things that may or may not work out. An essential part of the wholeheartedness toolkit is infact vulnerability. Vulnerability is …

Serenity Mantra

Om Asatoma Definition – What does Om Asatoma mean? Om asatoma – sometimes referred to as Om asatoma sadgamaya – is a peace mantra often used after yoga class or meditation. It comes from the Sanskrit, om, which is the primordial sound of the universe; asato, which means “unreality”; and ma, meaning “not” or “me.” Peace mantras, or shanti mantras, are recited for their ability to create a serene environment; in particular, to calm the mind and create inner peace. Often, the sound vibrations created by chanting the syllables are more important to creating this peace than any meaning ascribed to the words. Yogapedia explains Om Asatoma The full Om Asatoma mantra is: Om asatoma sadgamaya. Tamasoma jyotirgamaya. Mrityorma amritamgamaya. Om shanti, shanti, shanti. Translations vary :: “Om, lead me from the unreal to the real. Lead me from darkness to the light. Lead me from death to eternal life. Om, peace, peace, peace.” The Om Asatoma dates back to ancient times, having been mentioned in the Hindu text, “Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.” It is also known …

Mid Life Relationship

Georgina, is the founder of A fat lot of good. She lives with her three children. Each week, she writes about the sense—and nonsense—of life. Many experts approach relationship challenges from the “deficiency model.” In this model, they identify what isn’t working, and work to fix those problems. On this statement I feel perplexed at the entire pressure around relationships and that perhaps we should look to the eye of the storm before its causal breakdown. A relationship is one where both people feel and have respect for themselves and with this have a deep bond between each other. In doing this it radiates and a natural stronger bond will flow. For me this starts with honouring my own body, creating a solid foundation and relationship with myself, from inside to out. Trusting and understanding my worth, my boundaries, my self value; a heart centred self love. This approach is about creating a solid foundation ‘for’ the relationship in me. One where both people feel a personal strength allowing a deep bond between each other. In doing this, there is …

Let the pain run through you {4}

Georgina, is the founder of A fat lot of good. She lives with her three children. Each week, she writes about the sense—and nonsense—of life. Be inspired by every new moon. Beauty is in the ordinary, in today, in your freedom, in your passions, in your friendships and in your self love. Feel just a little bit happy that it is at your fingertips. Pour and put behind you, dizzy memories that make you cry, be done; they are freckles, winged friends. Feel motivated that you have your eyes on today, it is a high freedom of a dizzy state of potential and excitement, of health. No need for complicated, I have spent the past week with my reading musings. Relaxation, exploration and embracing of forgiveness. Mindfulness, simplification, putting my eyes only to what makes me fly and just that little bit happy. Healing memories of old, decluttering to dizzy freedom. Who says its hard, who says you are quite not enough, it is only as you see it and hear it, the unhappy noise and …

Trust your eyes to give you the real picture

Irritation, why? The fact is we don’t trust our eyes enough to give us the real picture with what we sit within. The postcard that gives a proper picture of reality. Dogged by feelings of guilt for the need we have to make friends with our life, integrity, humility and honesty to situation. Unite not divide, a little tiny move or adjustment may encourage a reaction that brings a smiley face. It may take a little working out, discovery of a problem followed by control of self outrage. Yet you can not cut and paste the responsibility and ownership for your own personal life choices and suffering. The demise of our dear health is brought about by not chasing a calmed down one. Dire blackout phases of unplugging a connection with our inner intuition and voice, a phobia to finding courage to strike out for oneselfs’ health and wellbeing. Quite often we witness those who have a health demise initiated from a demand and importance to always be right and the winner. Yet it is …

The beauty of connectedness

Via Daily Prompts: Refresh & Clean Georgina, is the founder of A fat lot of good. She lives with her three children. Each week, she writes about the sense—and nonsense—of life. Dear you, It starts simply with you. Protect your sensitivity dear one, refrain from confiding your deepest and purest feelings to those that won’t cherish them dear. Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship you have. Stop engaging in destructive dances, be healthy and assertive and find your emotional freedom. Help others excel within your being for it is those whom are grateful for all the loving and kindness you have in your life and to be grateful for. Have a relationship with vulnerability not one based upon contracts of kisses and possessions. Walk with grace, accept a defeat, build your plans on today alone, for there is gratitude in every day and breath. Thrive, water and grew. Don’t listen to the patter and path of future stories invented by the inner voice. Park sources of exhaustion, look for your own emotional freedoms and …
